...a bit about me...

Hello Fellow Artists!
What an opportunity to be part of this awesome art adventure! I am so ready to have the chance to encourage you on your journey as artists.
Teaching art has always been my dream. My senior year of high school, I babysat little ones and always brought along my art bag so that they could create masterpieces. At the end of the summer, I invited all the kids over for a huge outdoor Messy Art Party (see picture in slideshow above). I knew then that teaching art was the job that brought me joy!
After high school, I attended Tyler Junior College and UT Tyler and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major in English and a minor in Art. I have 13 years experience teaching art in public and private schools and owned my own art studio, The Crayon Box Studio, from 2004-2007 in Tyler.
Over the years, I have worked at Rice Elementary in Tyler, Trinity School of Texas, Christian Heritage School of Longview, Innovation Academy of Tyler and Longview. I have also worked and volunteered at ArtsView Children's Theatre and The Longview Museum of Art.

Besides teaching art and creating art, I love hanging out with my three crazy cats Gabby, Mazzy and Firefly, crafting and playing games with my family and friends. Travel is also one of my favorite things, I have been to Canada, Scotland, Paris, Germany, Belize and all over the United States as well. I also dabble in photography, watch movies and read. If I'm not doing one of those things, then I'm probably on Pinterest...
I am looking forward to teaching art and exploring the world with you this year!
See you soon! :)
